European Commission agrees to investigate US biodiesel “splash and dash”; clears way for punitive tariff

The European Commission has agreed to investigate the US’s “splash and dash” biodiesel subsidies, and following an investigation may impose a punitive tariff on the fuel to offset the $1 blender credit available to company’s that blend biodiesel into traditional fuels. The credit has been used to undercut European biodiesel producers.
