New Planet Energy to proceed with abandoned Alico ethanol project in Florida

In Florida, New Planet Energy said that it would take over a multi-feedstock gasification/fermentation ethanol project abandoned earlier this week by Alico. The company said that plant construction would begin later this year at an undisclosed location, and had a goal of 7 Mgy of capacity in its first phase, expending to 20 Mgy by 2011 and 105 Mgy by 2015. The company said it would plan a total of 20 ethanol plants in Florida.
