Syntec producing 110 gallons of alcohols per tonne of biomass in research

In Washington state, Syntec Biofuel announced that it has sustained conversion rates of greater than 110 gallons of alcohols per ton of biomass, using its proprietary thermo-chemical process and catalysts, including methanol, ethanol, n-butanol and n-propanol. The Syntec B2A process was originally developed at the University of British Columbia, and is able to produce ethanol from biogas produced by anaerobic digesters using manure, effluent or methane as a feedstock.
