Pro Eco Energy halts 100 Mgy corn ethanol project in South Dakota, cites economy
In South Dakota, Pro Eco Energy has halted development of its proposed 100 Mgy corn ethanol plant in Belle Fourche. The owners of the $200 million project said “The start-up of the project has been deferred due to the currently unfavorable debt and equity markets for starch-based ethanol projects. Alternative options to developing this site are being evaluated by the parties which may involve additional strategic partners, selling the project or continuing to construct the site according to the original plan.”

The dilema of finding enough capital can be addressed in part by outsourcing the demineralized water system. The system I represent eliminates the need for brick and mortar for the water system. No consulting fees are needed as our approach is a turnkey with the producers only responsibility paying a monthly rental and processing fee determined by how much water they use. Capital savings are upwards half a million dollars. No risk for producer as we provide backup demineralizer water trailers from our regeneration site in Midwest. If the RO has a problem a mobile trailer comes at no extra charge. As a producer, if you want to focus on processing biomass, leave the water production to others. This is a growing trend in power plants, paper mills and oil refineries!
