Kansas University launches biodiesel production: research data, campus fuel are goals

In Kansas, students and faculty at Kansas University have established a small-scale biodiesel production facility that will provide B20 biodiesel fuel for the campus, as well as provide a carefully-documented fuel sample for a series of vehicle and equipment tests. The research team said that their goal is to provide a more definitive analysis on the optimization of fuels for engine performance. The team is using waste cooking oil from campus sources as a feedstock. The KU campus has been using B5 biodiesel blends to date in its vehicles.
