A National Academies committee, reviewing the 21st Century Truck Partnership (21CTP), released a report with new policy recommendations for truck fuel efficiency and safety. Among its recommendations, the committee said that the DOE should work with biodiesel producers to ensure problem-free use of biodiesel in truck engines, including blends of biodiesel with conventional diesel. The 21CTP also issues a series of recommendations for the development of hybrid diesel-electric technologies for trucks.
