EPA to delay Renewable Fuel Standard implementation to June 2009

EPA logoAccording to testimony before the United States Senate, the EPA will delay implementation of the Renewable Fuel Standard by six months. EPA Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator Robert Meyers, testifying before the Senate Committee on Energy and Public Works hearing, said “It would be difficult to meet the statutory deadline by the end of the year. According to our projections we believe we can go final next year, somewhere in the middle of the year”.

Meyers said that proposed rule making in support of the RFS will be out this fall.
