Biofuels Digest Index jumps 1.85 percent as ethanol surges

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, recovered 1.85 percent Wednesday to close at 81.50 as ethanol stocks staged a rally.  For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) was up 1.69 percent to $28.85, while Pacific Ethanol jumped 10.19 percent to $1.73.  Among small caps, BlueFire Ethanol (BFRE) gained 2.86 percent to close at $3.60. Overall, advances led declines 3 to 1 for the day.
