GM launches ethanol education video to “debunk myths”

GM Next has launched a video education series that “debunks some common myths about alternative fuels and advanced propulsion systems. Each video showcases GM’s pursuit of a different fuel solution including ethanol, biodiesel, electric, hybrids, etc. They take average consumers’ responses to questions like “what does E85 stand for?” and then have an expert in the field provide the answers.” The first video concerns ethanol.

In observation of Biofuels Digest’s first anniversary, a column by editor Jim Lane, “Biofuels at the Crossroads”, said “Industry leaders relied on a mandate and subsidies to carry them through…hoping that the need to sell fuel the old-fashioned way, by creating and demonstrating value, door-by-door if necessary, would not be required. Here’s the news: it is required, and it always was.”
