Presentation on BlueFire Ethanol’s “Arkenol process” online for free download
In California, a comprehensive presentation on the “Arkenol Process”, a concentrated acid hydrolysis alternative to using enzymes for cellulosic ethanol production, is now online here.
The Arkenol Process was developed by a predecessor company to BlueFire Ethanol and will be employed by BlueFire at its two proposed plants in California.
Recently, the Los Angeles County Planning Commission gave the go-ahead to the proposed $30 million BlueFire Ethanol plant in Lancaster. The waste to ethanol project will commence construction this fall if no appeals are filed to the Planning Commission ruling by August. The plant will use yard and paper wastes, and wheat straw among other cellulosic feedstocks.
