In Texas, the Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance has released its first draft national Baseline Practices for Sustainability (BPS) in Biodiesel document. The document is available for download here (you will need to fill out a free registration at the SBA website to download).
The SBA has created an online forum for public feedback. Feedback will be accepted for a 45-day review period, and the draft will be finalized at the 2008 Sustainable Biodiesel Stakeholders Summit, September 17th in Austin. The draft document establishes sustainability standards for energy security, agrochemicals, land use, greenhouse gas emissions, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), biodiversity, energy conservation and community benefit.
