Biofuels Digest Index jumps 1.91 percent to 73.59, halting week-long slide

Alsons to construct 10 Mgy ethanol plant in Philippines
In the Philippines, Alsons Consolidated Resources announced that it will construct a 10 Mgy ethanol plant in northern Mindanao province. The feedstock was not announced but sugarcane is the typical feedstock used in the province. Alsons said that it would seek partners for the project that would commence production in early 2011.
USDA announces $35 million in aid to individuals, business for renewable energy projects
In North Dakota, Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer announced $35 million in grants and loan guarantees for renewable energy systems and ag-related energy efficiency improvements. 639 individuals and businesses in 43 states received support. A complete list of recipients is here.
UK biodiesel enthusiasts complete 10-day Grease-to-Greece rally; rally leader saves more on diesel than the car cost
