In Germany, Verbio announced that its 100,000 tonne ethanol plant in Zoerbig would reduce production owing to competition from cheap imports, primarily from Brazil. In July, Verbio has resumed production at a second site, in Schwedt, that had been idled since 2007 due to prices.
