Inter-American Development Bank launches Biofuels Sustainability Scorecard based on criteria of the Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels (RSB)
The Inter-American Development Bank has launched a new interactive Biofuels Sustainability Scorecard, which analyzes the social, economic and environmental benefits of proposed biofuels projects. The web-based application looks at 23 variables including greenhouse gas emissions, water management, land use change, biodiversity, poverty reduction, food security, and labor among others. The Scorecard was the developed by the Sustainable Energy and Climate Change Initiative (SECCI) and the Structured and Corporate Finance Department (SCF) of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) based on the sustainability criteria of the Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels (RSB).
