Biofuels Digest Index sinks 4.95 percent to new low of 62.08 on banking crisis, pure-play ethanol liquidity concerns

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, fell 4.95 percent to a new low of 62.08 amidst considerable market headwinds associated with the investment banking crisis.  For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) fell 7.35 percent to close at $21.31, while VeraSun Energy (VSE) fell 72.99 percent to close at $1.4 after reporting a projected loss for the third quarter o $103 million. Green Energy Resources (GRGR.PK) fell 33.3 percent to $0.92.  Overall, declines led advances 8 to 1 for the day.
