In Thailand, Ratchaburi Electricity announced that it has sold its 15 percent holding in Siam Ethanol to Siam Gas and Petrochemicals. The sale price was pegged at $1.3 million. The utility said that it has originally invested in Siam Ethanol while exploring the use of methane from Siam Ethanol’s waste water for power generation, but concluded that the process was not economically viable.
