Biofuels Digest Index falls 1.17 percent to 64.91 on ethanol retreat, general market sag

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, fell 1.17 percent to 64.91 on renewed broad market fears over the financial system. For the day, British Petroleum (BP) fell 1.04 percent to $53.54, while VeraSun Energy (VSE) fell 9.09 percent to $1.60. Among small caps, Nova Biosource (NBF) gained 11.11 percent to close at $0.30. . Overall, declines led advances 3 to 2 for the day.
