NZ tallow biodiesel plant to launch; will use 13 percent of nation’s tallow, supply up to 5 percent of diesel fuel

In New Zealand, Ecodiesel said that it expects to commence production at a 7 Mgy tallow-based biodiesel plant by May 2009. The company said that it would absorb in the process 13 percent of all New Zealand tallow production; and the company said that it would expect to double plant capacity by 2011, replacing up to 5 percent of New Zealand’s conventional diesel concumption.
