In Ohio, POET announced that its 65 Mgy corn ethanol plant at Marion will officially open on October 24th with an event attended by US Senators George Voinovich and Sherrod Brown.
The $130 million project will bring POET’s overall ethanol capacity to 1.54 billion gallons per year. The company is projecting yields in the range of 2.9 gallons per bushel of corn, an increase of 4 percent from figures typically used to model corn usage and yield.
