In Washington State, Mantra Venture Group announced the cancellation of its proposed joint venture with Vancouver, BC-based Northwind Ethanol to produce cellulosic ethanol. The company said that the two firms were unable to settle critical terms in the joint venture agreement. The two companies had announced the proposed JV in April, with a goal of utilizing Northwind’s low temperature acid hydolysis process of starches for a low cost ethanol solution.
