UK Renewable Fuels Agency says country ahead on biofuels targets; only 20 percent reporting compliance on sustainability
In England, the Renewable Fuels Agency released its first quarterly report, stating that the country is on track with respect to its sustainable biofuels targets. This despite a revelation in businessgreen, com that numerous “high profile” biofuel firms have failed to report the origin or the sustainability credential of the fuel they sell. The report concluded that biofuels are accounting for 2.61 percent of road fuel, and that the country had achieved a 44 percent reduction of emmissions for that slice of consumption, compared to an original target of 40 percent. However, only 20 percent of biofuels were documented in terms of meeting sustainability criteria.
