In South Dakota, Invesco announced that it has acquired 15.88 million shares of VeraSun Energy (VSE), prompting the company’s share prices to rise to a closing price of $1.90. The company, which announced significant losses from hedging operations over the summer and delayed the opening of two new ethanol plants, had seen its stock price fall from $17.75 to a low of $1.55 in the past 12 months. The company will have a capacity of 1.64 billion gallons of production by year end, according to company officials.
