MRI launches Center for Integrated Algal Research in Missouri

In Missouri, the Midwest Research Institute said that it will establish the Center for Integrated Algal Research to conduct research on carbon emission reductions as well as algal fuel production. MRI also announced that it has completed tests on the Montana Micronutrient Booster (MMB) growth formula developed by Green Star Products, and concluded in a study of two strains that the growth formula produced a 200 percent increase in algae biomass, produced cells that lived longer and that were larger in size. Green Star said that it intends to market the growth formula commercially next year.
