In the Netherlands, the Energy Research Centre announced a green gas technology that converts biomass residues to a natural gas substitute, at a 70 percent production efficiency rate. The gas is CO2 neutral, or CO2 negative if CO2 released in the production process is captured. The MILENA technology is being taken forward with the construction of an 800 KW pilot plant at the Energy Research Centre facility.
