In China, Reuters has reported that the Chinese government is expected to miss its 2010 ethanol production targets as a result of restricting the use of grains for ethanol production without lifting restrictions on the use of other feedstocks. The overall target had been set at 600 Mgy for 2010, rising to 3 billion gallons by 2020. China ranks as the third largest ethanol producer, but only 10 provinces are currently using ethanol.
