Jatropha biodiesel for Air New Zealand flight commences pre-flight testing at Rolls Royce

In New Zealand, Air New Zealand has moved a step closer to its jatropha biodiesel 747 test, with the arrival of its test fuel from UOP Honeywell. The fuel shipment was delivered to Rolls Royce for ground testing in the RB211 engine, prior to the scheduled test flight in Auckland in December. Terasol Energy provided the jatropha oil to UOP from environmentally sustainable farms in Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania and India.
