VeraSun mulling bankruptcy, obtains debtor-in-possession financing, report says
In South Dakota, reports have emerged that VeraSun Energy is considering a bankruptcy filing. Shares of the company’s stock plunged 53.3 percent yesterday to $0.49 after Debtwire filed a story on Tuesday obtained debtor-in-possession financing from Ableco Finance, the speciality finance arm of Cerberus Capital.

Gevo, ICM partner to produce butanol, green gasoline at retrofitted ethanol plants
In Colorado, Gevo announced that it had signed a partnership with ICM to produce isobutanol and hydrocarbons at retrofitted ethanol plants. Aquaflow Bionomic, UOP sign algae fuel production partnership
In New Zealand, Aquaflow Bionomic announced an agreement with UOP Honeywell for algae fuel. Under the agreement, the companies will use Aquaflow’s algae and UOP’s algal fuel production process. Aquaflow is growing wild algae in Marlborough using oxidation ponds where the algae consumes effluent and purifies water.
