Biofuels Digest Index drops 1.14 percemt to 53.86 on VeraSun plunge

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, dipped 1.14 percent to 53.86 with VeraSun’s bankruptcy a dragging effect on the Index.  Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) gained 1.83 percent to $21.11, while VeraSun fell 41.67 percent to $0.28 in the wake of its bankruptcy filing. Among small caps, Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRED) fell 7.98 percent to $3.23. Overall, advances led declines 5 to 4 for the day.
