Monsanto to buy Brazil’s Aly Participaoes for $290 million

In Brazil, Monsanto announced that it will purchase Brazilian ethanol producer Aly Participacoes for $290 million, and said that it aims to bring a superior form of sugarcane seed to market by 2016.
