In Australia, the Minister for Resources and Energy announced that the government will provide $15 million in funding for a Second Generation Biofuels Research and Development Program. The program will provide grants of between $1 million and $5 million for advanced biofuels technology development. The funds come from the $500 million Renewable Energy Fund and will be provided in the form of dollar-for-dollar matching grants. The program will accept applications for grants through January 2009.
