In Washington, anonymous advisers close to president-elect Obama have identified former Iowa Governo Tom Vilsack as the front-runner for Secretary of Agriculture. The governor, according to clusterstock, is “a powerful booster of alternative energy,” but noted that the governor “may not be the corn, corn, corn politician he seems to be”. Vilsack told television anchor Larry Kudlow last year that he would support repeal of the Brazilian ethanol tariff, as well as supporting stringent carbon caps.
