In Malaysia, Carotech has signed a $55 million export contract with the Netherlands’ Trafigura Beheer for palm biodiesel. The deal represents more than 50 percent of Carotech’s capacity, and management noted that the Trafigura deal would provide a stable revenue outlook for the company’s lenders and investors. Carotech operates two biodiesel refineries in Perak that produce 120,000 tonnes of biodiesel per year. Trafigura has contracted for off-take of up to 84.000 tonnes of biodiesel per year.
