HG Consulting to lead $416 million ethanol, sugar, power project in Kenya

In Kenya, HG Consulting is leading a project that will invest $416 million to produce sugar, ethanol and power at an integrated facility in Homa Bay. The Ngima Project expects to produce 100,000 tonnes of sugar, 68 Mgy of ethanol, and 225 GWh of green power. The project will also qualify for 217,000 tonnes of certified emissions reductions certificates under the Kyoto Treaty’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) protocol.
