Today in Biofuels Opinion: “[The Ethanol industry has] “generated an estimated $33.4 billion in tax revenue for the Federal government”

Sergio Ramírez Robles of Biofields, investor in Algenol: “Our business plan projected a 850 million dollar investment at the end of our first step (4 years) [and will] produce 250 million gallons of ethanol per year.  We started that first step production at the end 09 and we are sure by the end of 2013 that we will produce at least 250 million gallons per year.”

John Urbanchuk, in a study for the Renewable Fuels Association: [The Ethanol industry has] “generated an estimated $33.4 billion (2008$) in tax revenue for the Federal government and nearly $17 billion (2008$) of additional tax revenue for State and Local governments since 1978, reduced America’s tab for imported oil by $97.5 billion, helped reduce farm program payments by more than $3 billion annually since 2006, and put some $66 billion more into the pockets of Americans in the form of increased household income since its inception in 1978.”

    1. Jim,

The link to the Algenol article goes to a NYT opinion piece… nothing about Algenol.

    2. The Algenol link doesn’t work.
