In Illinois, Blackhawk Biofuels has opened its 45 Mgy soybean-based biodiesel plant in Danville. Company executives said in a statement that they plant to commence biodiesel sales by the end of the year. The company acquired the almost-completed plant earlier this year from Biofuels Company of America. Renewable Energy Group is managing the facility and marketing the fuel. The company said it will add tallow as a feedstock after initial testing and certification is completed.
