In Mississippi, Raven Biofuels signed an agreement with Larsen Engineering to commence planning for Raven’s proposed 33 Mgy cellulosic ethanol plant in the Gulf Opportunity Zone established after Hurricane Katrina. The GO Zone initiatives, plus power cogeneration opportunities with local utilities, were instrumental in the final selection of the location. Under the Raven agreement, Larsen will handle process design work, permitting and act as the owner’s engineer in specifying equipment, material and managing construction.
