Today in Biofuels Opinion: “Support immediate use of a higher base blend of ethanol at either 15% or 20%.”

From a letter by Growth Energy, the Renewable Fuels Association and the American Council on Renewable Energy to the CEOs of automakers seeking US aid: “To avert dire economic consequences, we implore you to bring resourceful, innovative and practical solutions as you develop the comprehensive plan requested by the U.S. Congress to transform your industry…Your simple decision to support immediate use of a higher base blend of ethanol at either 15% or 20% and implement a mandatory Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV) schedule that coincides with the Renewable Fuel Standard will allow this country to move beyond a base blend of 10% ethanol and comply with the law.”

Glacial Lakes Energy interim CEO Jim Seurer: “We heard about those [bankruptcy] rumors, and in fact, some of the elevator suppliers were most concerned and had stopped delivering—but the rumors are not true. We are working with the bank group. We have the support of the bank group.”
