South Korea announces B3 biodiesel mandate for 2012

In South Korea, the national government announced that they will shift the minimum biodiesel content from 1 percent to 3 percent, commencing in 2012.

    1. There are few critical points to achieve such ambitious target blending.

      (1) The available of the feedstock to produce enough BDF(B100) for the blending.The vegetable oil as feeds tock should be a good enough to produce the BDF for cold weather (Very low freezing point).
      (2) The clear governmental mandatory for blending policy.
      (3 The substantial governmental subsidies scheme to allow BDF production in Korea to compete with the Mineral Diesel.
