In New Jersey, the first public biodiesel pump will open today in the state at Woolley Fuel, which has been serving Essex, Morris, Somerset, Hunterdon and Union Counties since 1924 with fossil fuels. Sprague Energy is distributing the biodiesel.
The expansion of biodiesel to New Jersey comes as the CEOs of Ford and GM traveled from Detroit to Washington this week via hybrids and flex-fuel vehicles operating on E85. The GM team traveled in a Chevrolet Malibu, Buick Lucerne, and Chevy Cobalt XFE, while Ford CEO Alan Mulally drove a Ford Escape hybrid. The CEOs were criticized for previously appearing at hearings on a Washington loan bailout traveling on corporate jets.
