In Pennsylvania, North American Alcohols said that it had cancelled plans to develop a 114-acre site in Bristol Township, Bucks County for ethanol after county officials declined to give the proposed plant a zoning variance. County officials feared that plans for the ethanol plant would upset long-term plans for development of a mixed use commercial and residential area along the proposed site on the Delaware River.
