In California, Hydrogen Hybrid said that it will display a class 8 semi truck with a modified hydrogen hybrid fuel cell system. The system, according to the company, produces enough hydrogen to increase the truck’s fuel mileage by 30-50 percent and produces 660 gallons of hydrogen per hour. The company said that extensive road testing on a Series 60 Detroit, 14 liter engine showed an increase in fuel economy from 5.45 to 8.9 miles per gallon.
