In California, the owners of local biodiesel operations are seeing strong potential for converting new customers, based on the requirement in the new emissions regulations that would force conventional diesel using fleets to spend up to $40,000 on filyters. The Air Resources Board greenlighted regulations that would force the retrofitting of fleets with particulate matter filters. In response to the legislation, the owners of Extreme Biodiesel said that they plant to double their micro-refinery capacity to meet what they expect will be growing demand.
