Austin Peay research team wins algae-to-bio-oil grant

In Tennessee, an Austin Peay research team received a $10,000 grant from the EPA, on tope of a $107,000 National Science Foundation grant, to pursue the production of bio-oil from sunlight, water and CO2. The resulting biooil is transformed into biodiesel, ethanol and hydrogen. The researchers say that their algae-based process has no waste, recycling wastewater for algae production.
