In Australia, Caltex announced that it will purchase 7.9 million gallons of ethanol from the new $140 million Dalby Bio-Refinery that has commenced production in Queensland. The plant is located in the heart of the Queensland’s sorghum-growing district, and will supply fuel towards an E5 ethanol mandate established by the state government and scheduled to take effect in 2010.
