Ontario greenlights Sil-Tri waste vegetable oil biodiesel plant
In Canada, the Ontario Environment Ministry has approved a biodiesel plant that will be operated by biofuels brokerage Sil-Tri Bio Fuels. The plant will utilize waste vegetable oils and other sustainable oils as feedstock. Approval was delayed while the Ministry obtained responses from the company from questioned that arose during the public comment period, including noise and the use of tetrahydrofuran, a chemical Sil-Tri said it will not use.
