In Texas, Beacon Energy said that it had laid off 30 percent of the workforce at its 12 Mgy Cleburn plant. The facility uses animal fats and tallow as a feedstock. The company said that it had reduced expenses to match the revenues from current biodiesel demand and had reduced production volume to reduce current biodiesel inventories. The company is the only BQ-9000 producer in north Texas.
