Biofuels Digest Index plunges 7.48 percent to 49.21 on renewed economic crisis fears

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, fell 7.48 percent to 49.21 on a freefall by Archer Daniels Midland and a slump in other stocks. Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) plunged 13.02 percent to $24.25, while Biofuel Energy (BIOF) fell 15.22 percent to $0.39. Among small caps, Cosan (CZZ) fell 4.70 percent to close at $3.45.  Overall, declines led advances by 6 to 1 for the day.
