Jatropha cultivation to increase to 28 million acres by 2015, study projects

The Global Exchange for Social Investment (GEXSI) has projected that worldwide cultivation of jatropha will increase from 2.2 million acres in 2009 to 28.2 million acres by 2015. The group said that it expects Indonesian cultivation will increase to 11 million acres by 2015, with India increasing cultivation to 4.4 million acres. The Philippines was projected to be the third-ranked country with 2.2 million acres. The group said that 70 percent of cultivation would be in Asia, and projected a yield of 125 gallons per acre.

    1. There are a lot of empty claims in the planted Jatropha acreages every where in thw world.
      In fact it is very difficult to know what teh claimed acreages are real or fake.
      The result is there are no any realistic commercial quantity available for ytarde in teh market.
      If all eh claimed planted acreages and the hype of Jatropha yield would be the true stories.
      We should have plenty of seed and oil availble for tarding now.

      The related organization should have some cross audit for the reality before public out any incorrect information which would distort the Biofuel market mechanism like what is happening now.

      The expecting priecs of CJO is far below the real cost.
      This is only form the result of te fake information misguiding that there are so many Jatropha plantation with high yield oil to supply in the market.
