Wal-Mart converts more fleet to WVO-based biodiesel; reduced GHG emissions 25 percent between ‘05 and ‘08

In Arkansas, Wal-Mart Stores announced that it has reduced carbon emissions from its fleet by 25 percent between 2005 and 2008 with a combination of hybrids, new delivery routes, new trailer loading procvedures and biofuels. The company said that it was converting 15 trucks in Arizona to waste vegetable oil-based biodiesel and would test Arvin Meritor and Peterbilt diesel-electric hybrids that would use WVO-based biodiesel.
