In Latvia, BDI BioDiesel International announced the opening of a 30 Mgy rapeseed-based biodiesel plant in Ventspils. The plant will convert 100,000 tons of rapeseed into biodiesel and 60,000 tons of seedcake that will be marketed as animal feed in Scandinavia. The plant is similar in scope and design to the BDI plant in Mestilla, Lithuania.
